Since the 1980s, he has increasingly focused on watercolor and acrylic techniques, including through workshops at the Van Gogh Museum. He traveled extensively for his work, always with his watercolor set in tow, to paint in inspiring locations. In recent years, he has focused increasingly on painting landscapes. Ronald Vles lives in Naarden.
